Biography

Welcome to my website, I am Oliver and this is my world of all things 'OH' (which are my initials).
I am a textiles artist specialising in embroidery, with side passions for crochet and my most recent venture and joy; upholstery.

Following a BA Hons degree at the University of Brighton studying Fashion Textiles with Business, specialising in knitwear and a placement at conceptual fashion company Bless in Paris I went on to work at knitwear studios Cardigan and Bobble in Brighton. This expanded my skills, knowledge and most importantly my love of handmade textiles.

My embroidery artwork is a collection of quirky puns and word play predominantly incorporating my initials which funnily enough form the expressive word of 'Oh'.  Inspiration comes from a variety of places such as pop culture, nature, geometric patterns and Art Deco. Being environmentally conscious I use recycled fabrics where I can, in particular my embroideries which I occasionally use remnant fabric left over from upholstery makeovers.

I always like to keep a sense of fun and enjoyment in all my creations, whether it may it be expressing myself through word, imagery or colour.
